Ringtones app

Ok, a friend of mine showed me this app and it works on her 4S just fine. I downloaded it to my 3GS and it literally doesnt work. I play the song and tell it when to start recording the song and when to stop...it "successfully saves" it and then it plays me 40 seconds of silence...not the song. And there is NO record of any new ringtone on my phone. I am extremely disappointed in this app. It literally does not do anything but take up space on my screen. -__-
